Welcome!

FACS' mission is to celebrate and defend our public schools through advocating for fully funded, just, safe, and inclusive learning communities for all students. We believe that public education is a public good and that our schools are the heart of our community.

We aim to bridge the gap from home to school, school to leadership, and leadership to our key decision makers.

Our goal is to empower families to proudly choose to attend our public schools and to have our public school systems be the schools of choice in our community.

When you invest in our children, you invest in our community!

What We’re Up To

🚨 Wait… North Carolina is #1 for business but dead last in school funding?

For too long, politicians have chosen corporate tax breaks over investing in our kids and our classrooms. Meanwhile, our schools face staffing shortages, and educators leaving because they aren’t paid what they deserve, and lack of funding.

It’s time to draw a line in the sand.

📢 Join teachers, school staff, parents, and community members from across Asheville and Buncombe County as we organize together and learn how to take this fight directly to Raleigh.

📅 Wednesday, March 25
⏰ 5:00–7:00 PM
📍 Union Hall @ Asheville Mall

Together, we’re standing shoulder-to-shoulder to demand:

✏️ Put Kids First – Invest in our public schools and the educators our students deserve.
💰 End Corporate Tax Breaks – Make corporations and billionaires pay their fair share instead of draining resources from classrooms.
🗳️ Reclaim Our Democracy – Ensure public dollars serve our communities, not corporate interests.

North Carolina’s families, educators, and communities are coming together across race, zip code, and background to fight for our students and our schools.
